Makor, the upper west side’s outstanding Jewish concert & culture venue on 67th street is closing shop and moving ultimately to the east side into the mothership 92nd street Y super facilities in the next 3-5 years. In the interim, they are looking for a temp spot to house the usual NeshamaBluefringeSoulFarmMoshavPharoah’sDaughter gigs … Unclear if the new spot will offer the same awesome kosher sunday brunch or screening room – but it’ll be very difficult hard to imagine seeing the next Norah Jones (who got her start @ Makor) if the new venue is in housed in some lamorama JCC setting. Makor needs to stick to its, em makor.
