Why is it always someone from Israel getting all the press in the annual EUROVISION competition?

This year the Israeli rock band Teapacks is causing quite a stir with their hysterical song entry titled “Push the Button“. The song is a response to Iran's nuclear program and madman Ahmadnedijad's call to “Wipe Israel Off the Map.”

Israel chose the song and submitted it to the annual competition.  It wouldn't surprise us if the lyrics describe how a lot of Israelis might actually feel.

Now you have to understand that Eurovision is not the Grammy's.  It is a a 50-year-old pan-European song contest that airs with a lot of hoopla on TV  – the contest, according to CNN.com, is  know “less for serious music than for unbridled kitsch and terrible costumes.”

So this little controversy of dubbing the Israeli song “too political” is pretty much part of the whole glam event.

Many yids may remember the contest after well known TRANSEXUAL Israeli, DANA, won the whole thing 1988.

Anyhoo, hope the Teapacks song gets in…and the whole world realize what effect Nuclear war and Iran's threats are having on young punk Israelis…  driving them to say “BRING IT ON!!” or more accurately, “Push the Button!”

Below are the lyrics to “PUSH THE BUTTOM ” or you can watch Teapacks peform it here
